This live concussion management course is a 16.0 CEU, 2-day evidence-based guide designed to prepare Physicians, Physical Therapists, and Athletic Trainers to evaluate and treat patients/athletes with concussions. You will learn to manage them from both acute and protracted recovery standpoints, and effectively treat them through full recovery. It will provide in-depth information to enable you to confidently perform comprehensive examination techniques, as well as effective interventions to treat most concussions through a combination of lectures and hands-on labs. Should patients not recover as expected, this course will also address the clinical decision-making process that is necessary for appropriate multi-disciplinary referrals. By the end of this course, you will possess the expertise and confidence to effectively manage patients/athletes with concussions.
Learning Objectives
Following this educational activity, learners should be able to:
1: Explain the neuro-metabolic changes that occur as a result of a concussion injury.
2: Identify and perform appropriate examination tests for exertion intolerance, upper cervical dysfunction, and Vestibular/Ocular deficits based on their individual professional scope of practice.
3: Explain and perform appropriate treatment for exertion intolerance, upper cervical dysfunction, and Vestibular/Ocular deficits.
