Erin Bafunno

DPT, CMTPT

Erin Bafunno graduated with high honors for her two degrees from Marquette University with Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014. While at Marquette, Erin sought additional education in the advanced orthopedics course, emphasizing manual techniques for treating dysfunctions of the spine. She also has experience treating various conditions involving hip, knee, foot, and cervical spine pain both with and without headaches. Erin’s treatment approach involves looking at the whole picture of the patient’s problem to determine the actual cause of the patient’s pain and then utilize manual techniques to correct the movement dysfunction.

Erin’s experience at Marquette was fantastic, and she loves the patient education aspect of her job. So, she has returned to Marquette as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Department to teach the graduate PT students how to perform and improve their manual orthopedic skills.

In middle school, Erin’s interest in physical therapy was spurred when she attended “Bring Your Daughter to Work Day” with her mother, who also works in physical therapy. She was inspired by how much a physical therapist could help people by decreasing pain and finding ways that would allow the patient to get back to their daily activities.

Erin enjoys spending her free time being outside with her husband, daughter, and dog, Kona, playing tennis, stopping to enjoy a flight of beer at a local brewery, and supporting the Marquette basketball team.
