Freedom Personal Training

Darcy graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2014 with a degree in Kinesiology and an emphasis on exercise and fitness. Through her bachelors program, she had the opportunity to complete a semester of personal training with faculty on campus and an internship at the Froedtert Sports Medicine Clinic in Milwaukee working with their PEP Program. After her internship and graduation, she returned to Milwaukee and started her personal training career and even worked at Freedom Physical Therapy for a year as an aide.

She then returned to school and graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with an associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant was something that Darcy enjoyed because it allowed her to learn and work with more complex individuals within different medical settings. She has continued to work as an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer in a variety of settings, with a variety of clients for over 9 years. She also holds her CrossFit Level 1, USA Weightlifting Level 1, First Aid, CPR, and AED training.

Traveling, exercising, and being outdoors are a few things you can find Darcy doing when she is not working. Despite her busy schedule, she really enjoys sharing a home-cooked meal or having a good laugh when bringing people together.

Her business, Rooted Fitness, will be partnering with Freedom Physical Therapy to offer personal training services within the Fox Point Clinic. She is excited to be back and have the opportunity to provide additional services to not only help advance individuals after receiving therapy but to provide a collaborative approach with the therapists to increase the quality of life.
