Hand Therapy
When we are unable to use our hands, even the most basic daily tasks are challenging or unmanageable. Our Occupational Therapists understand the unique and challenging needs of patients with hand injuries and conditions, and have the skills to provide patients with what they need to return to function.
Benefits of hand therapy with one of our specialists include:
- Restoration of self-care functions such as dressing, bathing and grooming
- Return to activities of daily living including housework, laundry and cooking
- Decreased sleep disturbance
- Improved typing and writing tolerance and ability
Therapists use a comprehensive treatment approach including manual therapy and exercise, with options such as adaptive equipment, splinting, paraffin and taping.
